It goes without saying that I’d get very little done without these babies. And, since most of my work is done on screens, I made sure to get the anti-reflective lens coating to prevent eye strain and migraines. The transparent pink colour gives an understated, subtle, effortless look.
Ceramic Travel Mug (350mL) - Porter
I mean, aside from being the cutest thing ever, and helping me reduce paper and money waste on takeout coffees, this reusable ceramic mug with a terrazzo print silicone sleeve serves just the right amount of coffee or tea, fits perfectly in a car cup holder, and is light enough to carry around in my bag after I’ve finished my drink.
Medium Roast Coffee - De Mello Palheta
Hands down, my favourite coffee! Dancing Goats medium roast coffee from Brazil have a sweet, chocolatey taste and a bold flavour that wakes me up every morning. I like buying whole beans and grinding them myself every morning for a fresh brew every time.
Moleskine Classic Expanded Notebook (5” x 8.25”)
From scribbling down ideas, making budget projections, or taking notes during a meeting, this is my go-to notebook for years. It’s the perfect size to throw in a tote or back pack, or fit into a smaller crossbody. And, with a simple, sleek, and sturdy design and material, it’s sure to last forever…just don’t lose it, like I once did 😳😫
Medium Point Cristal Ball Pens - BIC
Since middle school, these inexpensive, basic pens are the ones I always reach for. With little to no ink leaks or smudging, I love writing in cursive or simple lettering with these.
Glass Pour-Over Coffeemaker - Chemex
I love my morning (and sometimes, afternoon) coffee ritual. It’s not just about getting that java hit, but about slowing down, taking a little break, being in the moment, and making something that I enjoy. A beautifully designed, glass pour-over helps me do just that.
Classic Structured Leather Tote - Cuyana
I’ve been a fangirl of Cuyana for years, and had my eye on their large structured tote for a long time. The pebbled leather is buttery soft, the stitching and craftsmanship is immaculate, and the size is ideal for your workday essentials. Mine comfortably fits my 13” MacBook, iPad Pro, Moleskine, small wallet, a few lip products, my cell phone, and my S’well bottle.
Although this eclectically-designed planner is a bit off the beaten path for my style, it’s a fun way to bring a little pop of colour into my neutral-loving life. The interior has just the right amount of space to plan annual goals, get a weekly and monthly view of your schedule, and is also full of fun quotes, stickers, and artwork.
Insulated Water Bottle (17oz) - S’well
If I don’t stay hydrated throughout the day, especially while I’m working, migraines and headaches hit me hard and fast. This insulated, low profile water bottle was gifted to me 4 years ago, and aside from a little bit of chipping on the base, it still looks basically brand new. I have my water bottle next to me all day while working, at the table for all my meals, and on my bedside table every night.
Whether I’m travelling across the world, or just walking over to a coffee shop to write, I try to pack as light as possible. Having an iPad Pro gives me all the power and functionality I need to blog, edit photos, or read articles without the bulk and weight of a laptop. Also, it’s the ideal device to binge-watch Superstore during a 7-hour plane ride.
The Apple Pencil has been a game-changer for mapping out project flows, sketching wireframes and concepts, and editing copy on my iPad Pro. Not to mention, it’s just fun to use!
How did I ever live without these?! I upgraded to the AirPods Pro from the first generation AirPods for that sweet, sweet noise cancellation feature. Now I can enjoy listening to music and podcasts while filtering out the loud hum of the airplane or screaming baby.
Standing Desk - Branch Furniture
Since I began working from home, it quickly became clear that working from my dining table wasn’t going to cut it for very long. And, since “sitting is the new smoking”, I wanted to consider my health when re-designing my work space. An automatically adjustable standing desk was the obvious answer, and this light woodgrain top with white base was the ideal colour way to fit seamlessly into the aesthetic of my home.

While I believe it’s what’s on the inside that counts, I’m also on a journey to learning more about and taking care of the outside as well. In doing so, I’ve found that the fewer products I use on my skin, the better it looks and feels, which conveniently aligns with my minimalist lifestyle. So, here are my favourite “fewer, better” skincare and makeup picks to keep me looking and feeling my best.
I can’t even believe I only started using eye cream a year ago, at the age of 32. Now, I’m obsessed, and literally cannot wash my face without immediately applying this brightening and moisturizing eye cream on my under eyes and orbital bone. After trying several different brands, I’m now on my fifth re-purchase of this cult favourite.
This limited edition, 4-in-1 Ambient Lighting Edit Mini - Sculpture Unlocked palette is the ideal solution I’ve been searching for. It consolidates four powder products into one, handy little travel-sized compact. It has everything I need for a sculpted, glowing base - setting powder, bronzer, blush, and highlight. I like to mix the highlight and blush together to mimic the NARS Orgasm blush.
After trying countless cleansers, across many different price points, I’ve come back to this drugstore brand time and time again. If you have combination, acne-prone skin like me, a cream cleanser helps balance your skin without over-drying problems areas. I use this cleanser every morning and night, and it’s honestly the only one that makes my skin feel deeply cleansed without feeling dried out.
Niacinamide + Zinc Serum - The Ordinary
I’m no skincare expert, but after seeing how simple and straightforward the ingredients in The Ordinary’s serum were - literally just Niacinamide and Zinc, for less that $10, I figured I’d give it a try. And, though I’m usually sceptical of most skincare, I do think this has really evened out made my skin tone, and reduced a lot of the acne scarring and pigmentation I’d get from hormonal breakouts, especially around my jawline. And, it’s hydrating, too!
I love this Lip Sleeping Mask (which I wear throughout the day and at night) because it’s incredibly moisturizing, healing, not too slippery, and it doesn’t wear off after one sip of a drink or kiss. It’s not waxy, which makes it a great base before applying lip stick. And, bonus points…it smells like watermelon! 🍉
After my favourite mascara by Esteé Lauder was discontinued, I was on what felt like a fruitless search to replace it. After years of searching, I’ve landed on this mascara that lifts, separates, and lengthens my lashes without transferring. For a girl that gets watery eyes the second she steps outside, even their non-waterproof formula somehow manages to stay put. It’s magic!
I must have missed the memo about packing on concealer all over your face, and I’m okay with that. I still apply concealer the same way I did as a teenager - just a touch to cover my under eye circles and any blemishes or scars. The Stretch Concealer by Glossier is a favourite because it provides buildable coverage, is moisturizing, and doesn’t dry out the sensitive skin under my eyes. I usually buy one shade lighter than my skin tone to add a brightening affect and then set the creamy concealer with a finely milled setting powder to lock it in place for lasting coverage.
I like my moisturizers to be simple, and do one thing - moisturize! This Hydro Boost gel cream does just that. It’s lightweight which is perfect for the spring and summer months when I top it with SPF.
I was first introduced to Bite Beauty, a Canadian brand, when Sephora had their matte lipstick in Chai as their birthday gift. I absolutely fell in love with the buttery, hydrating formula and this shade. I used up the whole birthday gift bullet, and re-purchased the shade soon after. It’s a universally flattering colour that is versatile for day and evening looks, and has a lovely texture and satin-y matte finish.

From the place you hang your hat to where you lay your head, there’s truly no place like home. Here are the items in my home that bring me comfort and joy.
My daily morning coffee usually entails a freshly ground medium roast pour-over. But, on days when I’m feeling like an extra special treat, I’ll whip up a cappuccino on this machine. As a homemade espresso newbie, this was the ideal entry-level machine to do everything I need. It allows me to adjust grind settings, pull an amazing shot, and get my oat or almond milk frothy and piping hot. I can’t wait to buy more syrups and learn how to make latte art.
When you don’t have a backyard grill to throw some steaks on, this is the next best thing. It gets to a nice high heat, perfect to sear red meat and toss in the oven to finish. I also love using this to sauté fajita veggies and get that delicious char and caramelization that’s loaded with smokey flavour. And, the best part is, if you season and care for it properly, your cast iron should last you a lifetime. Now, that’s how you get the most bang for your buck!
